Jan Dismas Zelenka wrote music of extraordinary beauty, such as his De profundis, ZWV 96. He seems - or at least so I fancy - to have been subjected to embargo through a longer time (reserved for political intrigue?) before he apparently has been released for the public in recent decades. I believed I knew a little about music in the 70-80's - at least I believed that such a composer should have surfaced to my attention - but had never heard the name before I discovered it some years ago. Jan-Henrik Ihlebæk told me in (as far as I remember) the late 1970's that there existed a czech music publisher called Supraphon which published special things. I dont remember Zelenka named, but it is possible that his music was available in his homeland (but maybe only there) in those years.
