Firefighting by laser

The following I wrote and stored on my computer on 7/8-25 at 1718:

Fire results from heat which starts a process which binds oxygen to carbon for CO2 - a process which in itself releases energy in the form of heat which thereby spreads.

If a laser beam could be invented which turns the process by splitting the CO2 which is about to be formed into carbon and oxygen and thereby reducing the heat, the fire could be stopped.

A sort of artificial photo synthesis this would be. This functions by the energy in the sunlight - and a laser beam could be artificial and concentrated light in that sense of it.

The firefighters could then direct the laser cannons against the fire instead of the normal water cannons.
