The basis for the 'Rigveda' cycles in 'Der Dornenstrauch'

John Bjarne Grover

Of essential importance for understanding how the 5 cycles of Rigveda for DDS are defined, I here show the details in this constitution. The cycles are determined by the chapters Hunde, Grenze, Baum and ROP in DDS part 1. These again are determined by the mapping from the 187 lines of part 4 ('Apparatski & Stern' - 16 poems with parallel Luke 20:1-20:14) in TEQ book 4. This is explained in the postscript to 'Kinderhilfe' (2014). I here list these poems with their lines enumerated from 1 to 187 for showing how the corresponding 187 poems (relative enumeration) of DDS part 1 are divided into chapters. It is observed that this New Testament basis is what ultimately guides the present subdivision of the first 424 verses of Rigveda into its chapters. These chapter titles are added here. It is seen that the 'Luke-controlled' poems of TEQ book 4 is what governs the length of the RV cycles. Here the cycle called 'Hunde' has its wrapover (from RV 1-36-3 to RV 1-1-1) on the poem with ABSolute enumeration 59, which in the DDS corresponds to where the next chapter 'Grenze' starts in RELative enumeration - and so forth. The last cycle called 'ROP' has its wrapover on ABSolute enumeration 188 which for the RELative enumeration means the first poem after the last #187 - which could mean a 'wrapover' to #1 in RELative enumeration. The names of the cycles in Rigveda are not so interesting for the present discussion - but they correspond in their absolute enumeration to the borders of the relative enumeration of the corresponding chapters in DDS. Hence it is not only the New Testamental verses of Luke for my TEQ but also the relation between relative and absolute enumeration in DD which controls these cyclic aspects of the Rigveda here.
