The long spiritual shawl

John Bjarne Grover

The long spiritual shawl that I climb
and curve-up around my neck
remains there curled-up and out of time
in many long years of trek.

I know it talks of the musical arts.
The housefly will gain its croon
and mirror the male in the female parts
as in a gregorian tune.

So many a necklace has found its way
from moon to the evening star
that twinkle above us, and I would say
what talks on my lip is the fly.

I had this poem on the front page for a couple of months 2021-2022.
