Geirr Tveitt Harp concerto #2 op.170
Op.170 = Op-døl? Search for 'opd' under 'Brief comments' for 30 march 2024 and 8 april 2024.
Geirr Tveitt had his house in Nordheimsund and worked much with folk music and traditions - he may have spoken quite dialect as well? - and in Oslo parlance he could as such have been considered a 'døl' (typically a person from rural districts with rural dialect and ideas) with many opus = Op.-døl.
Would that have been the reason why his house and almost all his works burnt in a fire in the summer 1970? He had (as somebody told me) stored much of his work at the composer's union but it seems that some intrigue could have mobbed him out and he pulled all his material out and stored it in his house in Nordheimsund - where it burnt in 1970. A few orchestral parts and scores and works had been left around in other places but there was not much left.
'Op. 170' could then mean that he had written all too many 'op's and therefore was considered an 'Op-døl'. Would that have been the reason why somebody could have put fire to his house and thereby prepared for the attack on USA on 11 september 2001? Even as a direct effect of my inquiry in the second half of the 1960's about what it was that I had found in the cupboard - this long and folded letter? The fire (12 july 1970) was not long after the deaths of Nelly Sachs (12 may 1970 - the birthday of my official mother) and Paul Celan (20 april 1970 - the birthday of Adolf Hitler).
If the long and folded letter I found in the cupboard under the bookshelf - from an inmate at Opdøl psychiatric hospital - were the origin of the intrigue, it would have been before 1970.
But it is well possible that the real reason even could have been the other way round - that Tveitt was more advanced musically than the surface can give an initial impression of - and this could have created nervousness in the norwegian experts and therefore the whole 11 september 2001 intrigue took shape for knocking the scaring dinosaur down. Neither was his doctorate degree accepted since, as his widow Karen Margrethe Tveitt told me, they could not find an opponent. But they had perhaps not tried to find one abroad? These foreign experts could, though, have been capable. A pity indeed if Norway used his work for terror-driven politics - and perhaps even put fire to it.
The harp concerto #2 appears first a little puzzling in its form - but is notable by being a remarkable 'up' in its effect.
Hallvard Ophuus Devold was a relative of my grandmother Laura Helene Eidsvig born Devold. He and his brother Finn Devold tried to claim norwegian territory on Greenland and planted the norwegian flag in Myggbukta (Mosquito Bay), which caused some international attention and they had to give up the attempt.
I notice in the article that the title of Geirr Tveitt's dissertation 'Tonalitätstheorie' backwards comes out close to 'erotic tät in landnåm' which in theory even could have been the ultimate secret in that story - since 'landnåm' is considered to be that old norse word for 'claiming new territory' or 'settlement' and hence this backwards form of his name could have been an allusion to just that 'landnåm' attempt by Hallvard Ophuus Devold and his brother Finn Devold in Mosquito Bay. Would 11 september 2001 have been such an attempt at new 'landnåm'? 'Vold' means 'violence'. 'Puste' = 'to breathe'.

Would even the attack in Moscow recently have been about an 'op/up-house'? Adolf Hitler also declared war on a lot of countries but it ended not so well.
Here a short piano piece of Tveitt - from 12 two-part pre-studies (inventions) in lydian, dorian and phrygian
And here is another one from the same record - played by Geir Botnen
Would these 12-2part-pre-studies - probably opus 2 published in 1930 - have been the origin of the 1223?
14/4-24: It seems that Norway claimed territory on Greenland in the years 1931-1933 - up the Hitler's takeover in Germany - and the question is therefore whether this really were an attempt to plant the norwegian flag in Geirr Tveitt's production - potentially even for the construction of the 1223 structure thereupon. (Tveitt's opus 2 = 2-part inventions and it seems that his opus 3 = 3-part inventions and opus 4 = 4-part inventions). If so, one could speculate if there were secret copies taken of his work while it still was deposited in the composers' union - before he was forced to pull it out and it all burnt - it seems that about 300 works (or opus?) were lost. This could have come in addition to the possible exploitation of Holm's poetry by Adolf Hitler - after a possible abuse of Holm's poetry for a hypothetical construction of the death of Lenin in 1924. It is important that Holm's 'Attljód frå gamaltidi' be published - for example on the internet. I certainly do not want my poetry to become victim of such a political intrigue as could have been the fate of Holm and Tveitt.
